About the Book!
Born and raised in Los Angeles, I decided to quit my job and move to Croatia to experience life in the country I had heard so much about growing up. The story of my identity as a member of the Diaspora and goal to connect deeper with my roots is one that I'm sure many of you can relate to. Through my journey from L.A. to Zagreb, I share my experience with funny stories, unexpected twists, and valuable advice. Spoiler: Baba was right!

Hi everyone, I’m Stanko Zovak! Growing up as a member of the Croatian diaspora in Los Angeles, I was always involved in the community but wanted to do more. 2 years ago I made the choice to quit my job and move to Zagreb where I’m studying the Croatian language. After living in Croatia for a while, I decided I would build something to help connect the global Croatian community so others can feel as close and involved as I wanted to when I was back in L.A. I started the All Things Croatia Podcast with an incredible reception and decided to write down my story in hopes that others will see similiarities in their own lives and become inspired to celebrate Croatia!
